The reset specification
Define room-by-room outcomes, not vague instructions to clean well. Include presentation, hygiene, hair and stain checks, appliances, drains, bins, consumables, damage, lost property, safety observations and final security. Use photographs or check records where appropriate, while respecting privacy. Critical defects must be escalated before the next guest.
Linen and inventory
Set par levels based on beds, turnover speed, laundry cycle and emergency reserve. Track removal, stains, damage and replacement. Standardise consumables and storage so shortages are visible. Avoid uncontrolled overstock that hides cost and expiry.
Supplier management
Document scope, price, access, timing, evidence, rework, cancellations and emergency cover. Pay fairly for the standard and time required. Review defect trends and coach with specific evidence. Repeated system failures require process or supplier change, not guest-by-guest apologies.
